Five years ago today, Holiday Wars launched online with the first 16 pages (32 episodes) of Volume 1. Since then we’ve never missed an update, released Volume 1 as a graphic novel, completed Volume 2, and are making our way through Volume 3 (everything but colors are done). This fall I’ll hunker down and write Volume 4 and next winter we are hoping to Kickstart the graphic novels for Volumes 2 & 3.
It’s taken a lot of work to keep Holiday Wars going and I don’t deserve all the credit. Michael Odom, the artists behind the books, has tenacious work ethics. I have no idea how he manages to complete so many pages in such quick spurts. He’s is an absolute beast and has been amazing to work with. In addition Gi Pica has colored his heart out. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve asked him to make corrections and his response is usually something along the lines of “Sure, no problem!â€
Most of all, I want to thank the readers that have stuck with us. It’s not easy following an ongoing storyline in a comic posted online and yet we have regular readers who have been commenting on each episode for well over four and a half years. Its for you guys that we do this. Sure we love making the story, but knowing you all care about the characters and events as much as we do means everything. Thanks for sticking with us!
No, no, no. Thanks for you to stick with it. 😀
The longer the stories, the more complex the storylines, the more wisecracking commenters (not naming anyone here), the more easilly the people behind comics lose focus and just stop bothering with their works (naming Marvel, DC and pretty much every major comichouse here, just for reasons). So for you to having provided us with at least mostly sensible adventures in fantastical world for all this time and hopefully for many adventures yet to be… It is truly us who are indebted to you. I mean usually to get something this good, you at least have to buy something… Not that I personally haven't, but there was never any must involved… So again. Thank you. All of you. 😀
And next time you want to "vacay", just say so. You've all done spectacular job with the comic and have more than earned it. On the sidenote I'm somehow remembering one day that the updater was malfunctioning somehow with the comic, but that's just me…
Relating the comic of the day: You know ladies, that you're dealing with the heroes? Being dishonest is the first way to causing chaos and mistrust and all sorts of trouble among allies. Be honest and they'll demand to follow your lead no matter the cost. 😛
Well turd face what you are referring to is the time that wordpress and the database glitched and I didn't think there was a way to fix it.

However I was able to fix it by restoring a back-up and then re-posting all the episodes so we ended up NOT missing an update.
Knew there was a catch. 😀
I like that Friday didn't take the deal. It's the cliche that people in these situations take the deal in order to help their loved one(s), without understanding it's exact parameters. They typically end up either making things worse for the people they were trying to help or otherwise coming into conflict with them, and regret ever making the deal.
Thank you for making a story I enjoy, in a world that is fascinating, with characters I care about liking or hating.
Happy Birthday
